How to Make Cat Meme Videos with AI (Dance, Sing, Talk)

The cat meme video is having its third and biggest wave. First cats ruled image macros, then they ruled short clips filmed by owners — and now the AI cat meme trend lets anyone turn a single photo of their own cat into a dancing, singing or talking video that looks like it took a film crew. On TikTok, Reels and Shorts the format is everywhere: a cat hits a beat-locked dance move, belts a chorus with full lip sync, or delivers a deadpan monologue to camera.

This tutorial shows how to make a cat meme video with the AI cat meme generator — from picking the photo to posting the finished 9:16 vertical clip, no footage and no editing skills required. The whole cat meme video workflow fits inside a coffee break.

What app is TikTok using for cat dancing videos?

It's the most-asked question in the comments of every viral cat dance clip. There isn't one official app: the trend started with creators stitching CapCut effects onto existing footage, but the photo-to-video versions you see now — the ones where a still photo of someone's actual cat starts dancing — are made with AI video generators. The cat dancing meme template here is built exactly for that: you upload one photo, and the generator animates your cat with beat-locked choreography while keeping the fur pattern, markings and face consistent with the photo.

That last part matters. A generic "dancing cat" clip reads as stock AI footage; a cat meme video that is unmistakably your cat — same stripe, same half-mustache, same unimpressed eyes — is what makes friends tag each other. Recognition is the entire point of an AI cat meme video.

How to make a cat meme video, step by step

1. Pick one sharp photo. Front-facing, even light, face and body visible, no other pets in frame. A quick phone shot at your cat's eye level is perfect — the AI cat meme generator copies its identity from this single image.
2. Open the generator and drop the photo in. No prompt writing needed — the pet meme templates write it for you.
3. Choose your cat meme style:
   • Dancing cat — hip-hop bounce, breakdance spin, disco fever. The signature cat meme video format.
   • Singing cat — pop star, rock concert or opera diva, with real lip sync on the chorus.
   • Talking cat — birthday wishes, dramatic gossip, a love confession delivered straight to camera.
   • Reaction cat — shocked, side-eye judgment, dramatic scream. The fastest cat meme video to make.
4. Generate and wait 1–2 minutes. The cat meme video renders in 9:16 vertical with audio matched to the template's style. Failed renders are never charged.
5. Download and post. Paid downloads are HD with no watermark. Upload the vertical file natively to TikTok, Reels or Shorts and let the cat meme video loop.

Can I make my cat dance to a specific song?

Partially, and it's worth understanding why. Cat meme videos generated here ship with AI-generated audio that follows the template's style — a dance meme gets a beat-locked track, a singing meme gets a full vocal-style performance — because bundling licensed commercial music isn't allowed. To put your cat meme video over a specific commercial song, generate the clip, then swap the audio inside the TikTok or Reels editor, where the platform's music license covers the post. You're responsible for securing rights for anything outside that flow.

In practice the generated audio lands so cleanly on the beat that most creators post the cat meme video exactly as rendered. The one thing to avoid is fighting the template: pick the meme style that already matches the song's energy, and the cat meme video will feel native instead of stitched together.

Cat meme video tips from the trends

• Lean into the judgment. The internet's core belief is that cats are unimpressed by us. Side-eye and deadpan monologue cat meme videos consistently out-perform "cute" ones.
• Use the markings. Point at the stripe or the one white paw in your caption — proof it's really your cat is the engagement engine of the AI cat meme trend.
• Series win. "My cat reviews my cooking, day 4" — a recurring cat meme video format turns one viral hit into a channel.
• Dogs are welcome too. The same templates power the AI dog meme generator, and dog-and-cat duets are a format of their own.
• Regenerate fearlessly. Failed renders are never charged, so if the first cat meme video doesn't nail the attitude, run it again with a different template — experimenting costs nothing but a minute.
